They look a bit like they might “catch” in a jeans pocket if that makes any sense, like almost too “grippy”… any real world experiences?

They do yes, or at least they did when I last bought one a couple of years ago. I don't know if the material has changed at all since then.

I use only these for the past few years. Tried other brands, nothing comes close to haptic and quality in my opinion. They can be easily washed, they survive harsh hospital disinfectants, etc.

First month they are perfect, no sticking (or they stick the right amount compared to naked phone, which just slides out), no lint, afterwards they develop some stickiness and pick up lint. They also stick a bit more to the pockets, but personally I'm not too bothered by that. Naked phone I had falling out of my pocket in the car and into the crack between the seat and center console a few times; with a case, never.

On the other hand when picking the phone from the table, in the beginning the case is a bit too slippery, while after a while it's just perfect. For me this is the main reason, why I'm not using phone without a case. Without it I have to pay extra attention when picking it from the table.

Good to know. I just ordered the Cypress Silicone for my incoming 15. I remember I had the silicone battery case for my 6s way back when I was a little torn about how it felt in hand.

I have one for my iPhone XS. I keep my phone in the front pocket of my jeans. Mine does pull out the lining of the pocket somewhat as I take it out of the pocket.

My case is many years old already and the corners/edges of it are shiny vs the dull finish on the back. The shiny part feels more sticky and that is what catches on the pocket. When the case was new, it never got caught.

The case has definitely saved my phone from cracks and damage on numerous occasions. A few of the corners have small holes in the silicone material from drops, leaving the hard plastic exposed beneath.
