Just ordered a MBA 16/256. Boy am I hype! But I got a 2-3 ship with Dec 14-22 delivery 😩

Replacing a late 2012 MBP 😮 since I'm mostly on iPad Pro

So we are seeing earlier shipments on 16GB variants?

This is the exact update for me
Looks like we are on the same flight.
Have you gotten any updates on your UPS tracking yet? Any arrival scan or customs clearance in Alaska? Flight UPS 81 landed over two hours ago, and my UPS tracker still has no updates - last update is from Shanghai: "In Transit".

Pilot, we gotta keep each other updated!. Different devices but same ship time.
The "I just ordered / bought / got my new/refurb MBP" thread [Merged]

That's dead no one posting there really.

No I don't have any updates either. By the way, UPS really made their tracking system worse, I can no longer see the "detailed view" for further info.

But, if we are lucky enough, our Macs may be loaded on this flight:

If we are not, then we have to wait 😥

If they are on this flight, there would have been an import scan and departure scan already for sure, as I believe they don't load a package on a plane without a scan.

But the last two updates are "in transit", which is really vague. There even might be some possibility that our Macs did not make it on the flight to AK.
I looked up "In transit" on UPS support.

Packages moving long distances are often not scanned again between origin and destination.

Looks like we won't know if they were even on the flight until they destination scan at final destinations (or hopefully, Louisville). I guess just track flights and hope for the best.

I'm trying to correlate when people were charged vs when the status changed to preparing to ship. I know a lot of people have just woken up to see both, anyone see one change before the other? I've been assuming the charge comes first?

Do you guys think it’s wiser to just order it online? I want to pull the trigger and buy a M1 Air(16gb,512 SSD), but I don’t want to wait a month to get mine! I don’t know if I should just wait for it to restock at my local Apple store, or to just order it. I remember when I bought my Series 6 watch, I ordered it the minute the Apple event ended, and it ended up shipping to me nearly a week later even though my Apple store ended up having them in stock during the entire time it was in transit. I’m so torn!

It depends are you a patient person? If you're someone who refreshes the tracking at least every couple of hours then i'd find somewhere you can pick it up from.

I ordered 20 minutes after the event ended and it doesn't even look like mines left China yet.

Ah, in this situation, I will not be patient. I will not stop refreshing until I get the configuration I want. Will keep you guys updated!

My MacBook Air 16GB, 2TB SSD arrived today! Originally it said that it would be there 11/27-12/3. Once it shipped it stated 11/23 but FedEx delivered it today and boy am I loving it. Good luck to everyone else waiting.

16GB/512GB is a built-to-order configuration and usually not available in stores, only online.

Yeah CTO macs aren't typically available for store pickup, it's not the same as a watch. I'd want to get the order in as soon as possible

I'm beginning to seriously doubt if our Macs even made it on the flight to Anchorage. The last update is still "in transit" in Shanghai, and UPS flight 109 from Anchorage to Louisville landed over an hour ago. I find it highly unlikely that a package would go through UPS' central Worldport hub without a scan and a tracker update. As far as we know, they might not have even left China yet, which is looking more and more likely. Am I just being too pessimistic?

Still in China is better than lost.

But I can't be too optimistic either. The tracking from UPS is just horrible.
