Apple Silicone Case Protection

first time that im considering buying an apple case - the silicone to be precise. It will be for an X.

Just wondering what peoples experience is with how well the silicone cases protect the phones?

Aside from good feel in the hands and micro fiber lining they dont allude to anything like air cushion tech that would protect against drops and the like.

That white silicone looks nice. Might have to cop that but I'm wary of color stain on it.

I was curious about this as well. There's never been any additional info about "protection" besides the general info about micro fiber.

I think I'm still going to grab one this year though. Looking at the blue cobalt.

Would be cool to hear from anyone who has dropped their phone with an apple silicone case on it.

I have used one on my 7plus no issues and have dropped it more then once. Just got one for my X.

I'm also considering one, but from photos floating around, you can see the surface isn't that robust & tends to tear/chip away easily when scraped - the two lower corners, where the case rubs against during application/removal is a giveaway sign of how fragile the outer surface may be compared to other cases.

But, I've never owned/felt one, so not the best person to speak on them.

I had the silicone on previous smart battery cases and the only issue I ever had is if you drop it it tends to get "chunked" where the silicone sort of flakes up if you know what I mean. I just got a black one for my 8+ & my only complaint is it's a magnet for lint etc otherwise its nice.

I’ve always liked the silicone cases , I’ve had one on all of my iPhones. I actually just picked up a midnight blue one today & a screen protector from the Apple store.

Cool, I would be completely fine with the case being somewhat being damaged, as long as it provides protection for the phone.
