Apple SIM in an iPhone?

I'm sorry if this has been covered elsewhere - I searched and couldn't find anything.

Has anyone used the Apple SIM from their Air 2 or mini 3 in their iPhone?

Does it work?

What happens?
 
I pulled my Apple SIM activated on T-mobile and put it in my 6+ (Verizon) and data worked fine. LTE defaulted to data only in settings but it worked.
