Supposing we get substantive improvements in the iPods, who in their right mind are going to buy existing models when Apple has CONFIRMED (after today), that something newer, better, faster is coming in a matter of days or weeks?
That simply depends on whether or not the extra money saved warrants the lack of whatever new features the ipods have. If someone knows they would be perfectly happy with the current model at a reduced price, for a lot of people it wouldn't make sense to pay the extra $70-80 (guessing) for the newest model.
If apple really has hit production problems on the new ipods and can't bring them out this month, I have to say that I hope Microsoft doesn't squander the opportunity.
The Zune HD looks incredibly slick and I hope it does well for Microsoft.
