I am just curious of the durability of the Apple Smart Keyboard? For those who have had it for a long period of time, how has it held up under use? Does it show signs of wear and tear or does it look just as good as when you got it? Does the front show any blemishes?

I just got one for the 10.5 and just wondering how this thing is going to hold up..

Mine still works fine and has not torn, but the letters are wearing off and it is discolored in places etc. It decidedly looks used.

Just about to ask this question!

I've bought a 2015 12.9" and although won't probably use too much was thinking of getting an Apple smart keyboard for it.

Was hoping eBay or a forum purchase rather than brand new, but reading heard some problems with it so following thread for updates

my 12.9 smart keyboard is 16+ months old... it still works and looks as good as it did on the first day even though it sees daily use.

If you won’t use it often, get the Smart Cover and an Apple BT magic keyboard for when you really need a keyboard. It’s much better for typing, will give a true desktop feel. And when not in use you don’t have to tote it around with you adding bulk and weight.

Good advice. I have used the Apple BT keyboard with my 12.9 Pro from time to time and it works well. As strange as it sounds, I prefer the feel of the ASK to the BT keyboard. Obviously a personal preference. I agree that for anyone who won't be using a keyboard regularly, the BT keyboard is a great option.... and can be used with other devices... I actually use it with my iPhone SE.
