Wow, I finally bit the bullet - got me an APK after reading all your hype about it. I LOVE IT! I finally was able to go to the store yesterday and try it out. I'm so happy I didn't realize I"m paying $169+tax for a keyboard, LOL. RDF was in full effect on me.

Anyway, it's not even flimsy - the keyboard keys are such a pleasure to use - it's not at all annoying - but it has this tap noise vs the old scissors type keyboard keys. Overall the magnet connecting the smart connector is super strong - easy to fold out to stand up the iPad and not the least bit wobbly!

If you are considering on, go check it out beforehand. I was using my apple BT keyboards before and this just works even better. No need to connect and reconnect. Always on when I need. NO CHARGING.

Now I gotta let the hype fade and realize I just got robbed!
[doublepost=1459049110][/doublepost]BTW - decided to take off my amazon back cover/front cover case. Using the APK with naked rear. Just lovely! I have applecare+ so I'm saying F- it, I'm going to just use it it' snot like the back material is some kind of paper. It's METAL. Let's see how long before I slap on a case...;)

Nice. I plan on getting a clear skin for mine to help with grip and against scratches. Until I find one, I'll use my old standby, clear Con-Tact paper.

I have some wide racer's tape - I'm going to use that on my iPad pro's rear to see if it helps. Sure it makes it look real ugly but I'm looking for a bit of scratch protection when setting on table via on it's back.

The clear skin I had for some of my iPad's before got real yellow and started to peel (from the edges).
[doublepost=1459050785][/doublepost]This keyboard is just so BOSS. Man, I love it so much. I really should've seen it in person before I had all these doubts. From the images online it looked too bulky and heavy - when I took it out of the box, it was just dayyyyyum. Classic apple quality product. HIGH QUALITY. The entire flap with the keyboard closed is just so minimal and really, really is nice to carry around with. Absolutely worth the money, well, at the current inflated price.

Using the keyboard for couple days now and loving it so much. BUT where is the ESC KEY? I keep hitting that graves accent key to escape out of iOS's auto complete and can't!

But you guys are right about not really needing function keys - the keyboard is so close to the screen my fingers can just reach up real quick to change settings in the control center.

How is it on your lap or tummy or something soft like a bed?

Debating between it and maybe a BrydgeAir

If lying in bed, it's better without the keyboard on your lap. I find it folded in the other way where it stands more vertical works better when lying down. With the keyboard opened up and flat on your legs, it isn't all that stable - the iPad feels as if it can topple backwards which it does only if you move around a bit.

It's not good if you bend your knees upwards slightly. I think it's best on a desk or flipped the other way it would work on your legs just fine. If you are sitting then it works - as sitting on a chair. But lying down I'm ok with it with the keyboard flat out only if both my legs are extended fully and it's positioned closer to my crotch rather than in the middle/close to my kneecaps.

Gat Damn - I just LOVE this keyboard. So frickin' svelte and the keys are just so awesome. I type faster on this keyboard than on any of the regular keyboards.

The Smart Keyboard is half of the reason why I like the big iPad Pro. The screen size is another half.

While the iPad Pro may not fully replace a laptop as Apple wished, in one particular occasion I thanked myself for not using the laptop. Yesterday morning I accidentally spilled coffee (!) on to the iPad Pro, with 70% landed on the Smart Keyboard and 30% on the iPad itself, and guess what? Both came out fine. If it was my MacBook Pro, I guess it's over.

I don't think I'd keep or enjoy using the 12.9 Pro without the keyboard. It's totally curved my MBP usage when I'm at home and I can actually be productive on it. Most of the time my laptop stays in my work bag until the next day.

I also had a difficult time deciding if I wanted the keyboard because of the high cost. There are of course cheaper alternatives, but in my testing I found Apple's to be the best to suit my needs.

You post here convinced me to go out and buy the ASK. I figure I have 2 weeks to try it out and I can always return it if I don't like it.

Yes! I just replied to this thread to say in as many words how much I enjoy typing on the smart keyboard
