Hi-I-have-an-apple-pro-keyboard-and-the-space-bar-
doesn't-work-so-I-bought-a-new-one-and-amazingly

boot into safe mode. to do this, restart the computer and hold down the shift key when it is booting up. when you get into safe mode, open up textedit or stickies and try to type. see if the spacebar works in there. if not, sounds like you may need to format and reinstall the os. =/

Could be a conflict... Try unplugging everything from the computer except the keyboard and mouse. Restart and see if that makes any difference.
