By 'redesign', do they mean case redesign? I really hope so. Those cases have had the same general design since 2003. Not saying that there's anything wrong with the current case.
Other than it's absurdly large compared to many other mini-towers and midi-towers with similar expandability.

Funny the MP gets criticized on size when you see HP/BOXX/DELL with their so called "workstations" almost at same specs. Its a workstation, how big it is doesn't really matter. It normally goes on the floor.

Id like to believe that but even our IT dept at (corp offices of 3000 plus employees) work here have started trickling Macs albeit MBP into their realm. Some might, but it looks like lots of ppl already jumped to nix/windows

Yep we are looking at the RED Z820 but waiting on a few users that are testing the reg Z820 with ROCKET and misc peripherals installed.HP offers five different sizes of workstations, from an SFF Z220 that's a quarter of the size of the Mac Pro, to the Z820 that's slightly smaller than the Mac Pro.
Choice.

finally a redesign of the mac pro!
Bluray and USB3?
I think your on the wrong side of the required professional business end of the original Mac Pro.
Part of my day to day job is BD authoring and trust me, its not that important in the professional creative end and not even in the broadcast/film side.
USB3? The Mac Pro and PCI capability kinda blows away all that.
Get yourself an ATTO SAS card with GTECH eS Pro RAID, then you can see why there is no need for USB3.
I am of course talking about the professional side of things here.
What a bunch of BS.
You can call it whatever you want but how about think about what your complaining about?
You are pitting a Mac Pro in its current state against what?
A PC?
Well then, just pull the trigger and move on over![]()
You can make any OS "unstable" ... if you are finding one to be more stable than the other then you might want to consult your tech department. If one knows what one is doing, both OSX and Windows 7 are very stable. What's the headache? Turn computer one, wait a few seconds, click your application(s) icon ... both do the exact same.
