    Hi,

I am an irish citizen looking to work for apple in cupertino permanently
as a cocoa developer, but of course I need to get Apple sponsorship for a permanent working visa.

How would I contact Apple to let them know about my request?

I know the only way to gain sponsorship is if I offer something that
A permanent citizen of the u.s cannot, but disregarding this, what should I do?

Look on the Apple website, see if they have any jobs and apply for them if they do?

If they are indeed taking people on, then... it should be ok and they will let you know what you need to do. But until then...

They are hiring. These are the lists for Applications and Software Engineering on the Apple Job Opportunities site.

Applications group openings (probably more Cocoa jobs):
    http://jobs.apple.com/index.ajs?BID=1&method=mExternal.searchJobs&searchUserDefinedId=57&Language=en

Software Engineering (more nitty-gritty, so my guess is more C, less Cocoa):
    http://jobs.apple.com/index.ajs?BID=1&method=mExternal.searchJobs&searchUserDefinedId=51&Language=en

I have absolutely no familiarity with work visas, sponsorships, etc., but it seems like at the time an offer was made, you would negotiate that as part of your compensation. If they are unwilling to include that, you'll simply be unable to accept the offer.

EDIT: Bah, robbieduncan beat me to the punch.

Well, if you're successful as an applicant, if you visit here it will tell you everything you need to know.

But again, you need to get the job first
