Can you get rid of all of the soccer BS if you don't want it at all? All I care about is college football, NFL, MLB, NBA, college softball/baseball
Just don’t follow it, just like the rest of the world won’t click to follow the NFL, MLB, NBA, and teenagers playing PE.

YES! My favorite example of this was while I was watching Europa League finals on my phone, the Sports app live activity popped up, covering the right side of my view of the game to let me know about a goal that hadn't happened yet.

I tried to swipe it away so I could at least see the goal happen "live" and instead it sent me to the Sports App.

I WAS WATCHING THE MATCH and I missed the goal because the Sports told me about it...

I've since turned off the live activities and notifications and now just use it to check scores when I want.
Unfortunately it’s more a problem of the broadcasters having a delay with streaming sports live on TV.
Amazon got it spot on by the end of their Premier League coverage after initially being a good minute out when they first started with the coverage. Everyone seems to be playing catchup.

Dummy Apple who doesn’t bring it to the iPad, the Mac, the Apple Watch, the Apple TV and the Vision Pro

Did they fix the issue where it continues to push spoilers of Formula 1 races onto my Lock Screen even after I've changed the setting to "not display live activities" for Formula 1 only to have it reset multiple times?

it's not just F1. does it for MLB too. i've had to unfollow my favorite team and use the MLB app instead, which offers a 30 second buffer and lets me decide which games i want to follow live or not

When I used it before it had default stuff and you couldn't hide it. Same for the ESPN app, which is why I'm looking for other options to begin with.

I don’t get why this app is still not available outside US? Game results has copyrights?
I have no background knowledge whatsoever, so someone please correct me if I am wrong, but my suspicion is that the sports leagues have different agreements that may result in differing rights to the data, and it doesn't make sense to launch in most countries without those rights.

I know video is different than just data, but as an example, when I am watching German news here in the US, they often don't show highlights from sports. Instead they play the audio over a screen that says something like "Unfortunately the video is not allowed to be played in your country due to media rights." Wouldn't surprise me if Apple needs agreements to legally be able to share that data.

And if you don't have those rights, then it probably doesn't make sense to launch. Using a made up example, if Apple doesn't have the rights to the Bundesliga data in Germany, it doesn't make sense to launch Sports there, since 99% of your potential customers are going to care about having access Bundesliga scores. Even if Apple has permission to share, say MLB or NFL data in Germany, most users aren't going to use the app without Bundesliga scores.

Now multiply that by every country in the world Apple operates in.

This is the problem with their model across the board related to sports. When I indicate I like a baseball team on my phone my family is forever interrupted with updates while they are trying to watch Bluey or a movie on the Apple TV. The process of dealing with this is buggy and just plain opaque. It needs to be less "magic" and more "this is how it works, and clearly how you can disable undesired functionality".
The best is when you're watching a game and it tells you the game is getting ready to begin.

I still don’t understand why this app isn’t available worldwide but the Invites app is.
