The Apple Sports app now supports men's and women's golf, along with improvements to soccer and tennis coverage.

Version 3.7 of the app introduces support for every PGA and LPGA tournament, with live leaderboards, round-by-round scorecards for every golfer, and real-time updates in the app, widgets, and Live Activities. The app already supported the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, F1, Premier League, and more.

Golf fans can follow along as each tournament unfolds with access to live scores for all official PGA Tour and LPGA Tour events, including the majors, starting this weekend with the PGA’s WM Phoenix Open.

Fans can track their favorite players through each event with hole-by-hole results and individual scorecards alongside live leaderboards, plus scores from every round during each tournament throughout the year.

Apple has also expanded the soccer lineup with support for Copa del Rey, Coppa Italia, Coupe de France, and DFB-Pokal. In addition, tennis coverage now supports real-time stats, making it easier to keep up with the action.

The Apple Sports app launched in 2024, offering a convenient way to glance at live scores and statistics. It is available on the iPhone in the U.S., the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and select other European countries.

Where is the iPad/Mac app of this?

It's so ridiculous that Apple doesn't even support their own platforms.
This and just the overall experience in general is still so far behind peers. I like the basic aesthetic of the app, but sometimes that simplicity is a fault and it lacks basic content that should have been added from the start

Wonder how much it will cost in subscription? 😂

No thanks Apple, we have a good free sportchannel in Sweden, that are payed for throug the 'publicservice fee' (that comes from taxes) so no extra cost for the users. It covers most things of Swedish Sports.

I assume it could be something for those who want's to follow international sport from here.
Personally, I find most international sport that I am interested in om YouTube, that I already subscribe to and find usefull and worth it.

So most probably not for me Apple.

The app's coverage of tennis still stinks. The ATP and WTA have tournaments going on nearly every week from January into November, and it appears the app only covers the grand slams and maybe the 1000-level events.

No LIV golf support... Nice. 👍

Ok Apple, I downloaded and deleted it 😉
But wow, you at least had a chart of Women's Champions Leauge.
But now Women's Champions Leauge have a much better app.
I was definitely not your target user.
And as you don't release a new iPhone mini, I don't keep apps on my phone that are not actually really useful for me.

Would be cool in Brazil. People her are absolutely insane about sports!

Because life here sucks thanks to our crooked Judges and insane president hahahaha

We need the distraction

I’m glad the added stats for tennis matches. Now they need to cover every tournament not just the big ones.

I’m curious where they get their data from. Is it just that they don’t want to pay for it?

Honestly a fantastic and underrated app, at least when it comes to Major League Baseball. Faster than the official MLB app and sometimes even faster than the MLB.tv stream. I just wish there was a way to turn off betting odds/gambling stuff.

I'll have to disagree - I like it because of its simplicity and I'm glad there is a simple app. If I do want a more complex app (in the case of MLB) I'll use the MLB app.

That’s true. I guess it’s sport by sport. The league specific apps can be overkill most of the time.

You can, just not within the app. Open the Settings app > Apps > Sports > turn off Show Betting Odds.
