Hopefully, resellers will be catching up as well.

Work ordered me the 16" 10/24 Max with 32GB RAM and 512GB storage with our reseller (CDW, I think?) on 2/1. No estimate from them on delivery, just "backordered." I anticipated at least 6 weeks. I'm hoping it won't be much more than 8.

Was there really ever any doubt that Apple wouldn’t catch up to demand, at some point?

LOL!

We've ordered hundreds of 14" for our enterprise. Usually they ship in 3-4 weeks but sometimes 1-2. They really haven't been that constrained, all things considered.
Only If: you order no M1Pro/max/64RAM; you’re in North America and last but definitely not least, order directly from Apple, otherwise you’ll be waiting for some seriously fugitive unicorn…
So the M1 Pro configurations were arriving at the stores periodically all this time. M1 Max configuration orders are way longer now. So M1 Pro standard configuration is 2-3 weeks, while M1 Max is 8-9 weeks. Nothing to cheer about with that estimate.
Only if you order directly from Apple. I’m waiting for almost 4months now🤬
I'm still waiting on my M1 Max ordered in mid-December! :( Hope it gets here soon.
Same: End October still to ship!?
If they are only now catching up to demand, why are there deals on it?
Resellers deals. Probably customer cancelled orders, who wouldn’t put up with over 8 weeks waiting time.

All this mess has been poorly handled by Apple. Firstly huge and incomprehensible underestimate of Higher spec demand. But specially prioritising it’s own orders, despising customers. First come first served is business and customer care basic 101. You just can’t get that wrong.
FFS There are Mid Oct orders still to get shipped?! How does Apple dares to announce 2-4 weeks estimates while this is unsolved?
All this is too little and specially TOO LATE.

I got the 64GB max with 1tb and while the battery life isn’t as good as the 13” M1 I had last year, at least I’m not shredding the ssd with a 20gig page file any more. And the performance is much better on certain things.
Yeah, well i'm coming from a base model 2018 15" that sounded like truck anytime I did anything remotely intensive. And I made the dumb choice of getting the least amount of ssd space before... caused me all sorts of issues in terms of workflow.

The best thing about this will be Apple's ability to launch new models once they can make enough chips and then make enough devices.

I put my order in for a 14-inch MBP a month ago. It's still not even processed yet. And i'm not scheduled to even receive until early April ?

Hopefully it's worth the wait. 64GB, M1 Max, 2TB SSD.
If there are Apple Stores near you, might be worth checking out store stock once in a while - occasionally this BTO configuration is in stock. (The other configuration is 16” M1 Max/32 core/64GB/4TB.) I managed to buy one in October before the supply situation became constrained.

This is funny, day after the article, my MBP M1 Max went from "Feb 25th to March 5th" delivery to April 13th. I ordered in December. Looking online, that's the same est delivery if I ordered the same configuration today!!!

Status did go from processing to preparing to ship, and the date delay jumped one month at the same time. I hope that's some kind of glitch.

I'll wait for the current 14 and 16 to hit the refurbished channel.
I can't see where the latest and greatest is going to be that much of a BIG DEAL.

Hey guys, if you ordered online and have a long wait time, keep checking your local stores. They have high-end configurations coming into the stores now. I cancelled my online order that was slated for April and picked mine up in the store today.
