There are still theories (as there are almost every S-update year) that the next iPhone might simply have the next version number (vs. a typical S designation).

There's also a theory that Apple might make another version next year AND it might be improved
by about 12 to 14% like the rest of anything they make every year and the past 20 years.

Just a theory

If it is like the leaked images, the camera is still sticking out form the back. SO all people that get upset about this will have to wait till the iPhone 7 for another chance

You are on of those analysts!!! You should write stories, and have MR feature them on the home page!!!

While I don't like the 2 year cycle, it's the smartest business model. 2 year contracts are still huge in the States. If the contracts go away, however, then we might see something different from Apple. Especially with the rapid commoditization of the smartphone.

i remember some big change every redesign model are

iphone 4 - redesign model
iphone 5 - 4 inch screen
iphone 6 - touch id finger
iphone 7 = wow cant wait what next

I know that I shouldn't feed the troll, but reading these posts by @ipadpro is just so damn funny!

The iPhone 5S was the first iPhone model to include the "touch id finger," which is more commonly referred to as Touch ID.

Just a question, is English your native language?

Unless people want a camera like the iPad Air 2's that fits the 6.1mm design but has much smaller pixels, smaller aperture, no focus-pixels, and no OIS, I don't think there ever will be a camera that doesn't stick out like the iPhone 6's. The bigger question might be how much the camera will stick out in future models, considering the iPhone 7 will be thinner and the cameras will get more powerful and thus need more space.

I'm honestly just waiting for when they drop the numbers, and we have 3 models.

iPhone C, iPhone S, and iPhone Plus.

From there you just have generations, like the iPod lineup.

I don't, but if I had to bet on it, it would be a pretty safe bet. Ever since the iPhone 4, every "regular" model has been thinner than the last. I think Apple will eventually aim for the same thickness as the iPad Air 2 (6.1mm), whether that's in the iPhone 7 or until the iPhone 8. They could do, for example, an iPhone 7 with 6.5mm and an iPhone 8 with 6.1mm (we know they're obsessed with thinness).

Yes we know Apple is obsessed with thin but hoping that it is over and they go for structural integrity on the 7. If they want to make it thinner they need to post two stainless steel rods inside the phone so it will not bend.
