Yes we know Apple is obsessed with thin but hoping that it is over and they go for structural integrity on the 7. If they want to make it thinner they need to post two stainless steel rods inside the phone so it will not bend.
I hope so too, I would rather it stay at 6.9mm and focus on battery size increases. If you're looking for structural improvements, I'm sure the iPhone 6s will have them (as rumored).

Do not see how they can do much to bolster the 6S as there is little room inside. I am good as I am a holster person. Tired of trying to dig my phone out of my pocket while driving.

when people driving - hang a phone in dashboard mount or windshield mount - then use siri to help us access apps or call somebody -

that what i do and really works - save time and easy

I think if :apple: moves to USB-C, thickness differences will be held back until they put a micro-USB-C port, which would be similar to a headphone jack, but a bit smaller. Just my thoughts.

I didn't know there was such a thing as micro USB C, I've heard of USB C... I really don't think Apple will touch the lightning cable anytime soon as it is still just a hair smaller than the USB C ports. It doesn't make sense to switch standards to something that offers no inherent benefit for them. Apple doesn't care about cable compatibility with other devices or cable transfer speeds (as they love the cloud). Maybe Apple likes the all in one connectivity features of USB C, but there hasn't been much interest from them in having people have all in one connections through the Lightning port.

That thought does make sense, but I don't think Apple will put USB-C in any iOS device other than perhaps the iPad Pro. I believe when they introduced the lightning cable they said that, just like the 30-pin connector, they wanted one that will last them another 10 years or so. I think eventually they'll modify their charging adapter to have a USB-C port and the lightning cable to have a USB-C end, but only when they become more ubiquitous in Macs.

I made up micro-USB-C just so you know. While avoiding it seems like something :apple: would do, it would be nice to have it. After all, they did sort of introduce it with the MacBook, so it would make sense to carry it to iOS devices. The competition will probably have it by then, so :apple: will probably need to catch up.

I mean, it would make sense to do that, but I highly doubt it will happen soon. Putting it on a laptop running OS X doesn't mean that they should put it on iOS devices. I feel like the devices that they intend to have fast physical I/O connections, they will add it to those. But, iOS devices are gaining more and more wireless transfer features, that it doesn't really make sense to move away from a physical connector that works for them now, and will continue to work well for the foreseeable future (i.e. Lightning ports).

What does that have to do with this "iPhone 7" thread?

I'd like the iPhone 7 to have a wedge design to hide that camera bump. Then use that tech to lose the antenna lines and I'll bite. 2017 I'll upgrade from my 5S.
