And what about those companies that didn't have a competitor (with a Steve) to copy?
In college I had a friend with a HP/Compaq iPaq and the PC Card dock. This was in 2003. It was handheld enough and had magical rows and columns of icons along with a context menu if you held to activate. Many of the concepts and hardware we see today are not from Steve, Steve just had the moment down perfectly to strike.

These other companies have virtually nowhere to go but up. Samsung is selling a lot of stuff so it's not surprising their satisfaction numbers would be up. Seems logical.
Nothing logical about your conclusion. A larger customer base also brings more potential for "dis" satisfaction.

I think Samsung is making genuine inroads here.

This isn't terribly surprising. Samsung, especially, has been bringing their A game, despite what the haters say.

All this is is a consumer satisfaction score. The numbers would indicate that users of Motorola devices are pretty pleased with their purchase. It does not mean they would be more, or less, pleased with an iPhone. You just need to understand how to interpret the data.

I love your quote!

I know from personal experience that most Android fans act like they love their phones but then have all kinds of problems with them. Meanwhile, most people love and continue to love their iPhones for the duration of ownership. So these statistics are pretty biased.

Note sure where you've been hanging out to get this opinion but it sure isn't around any Android users I know. I love my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 and have had zero problems with them.

I agree completely. Just the other day I was in the bathroom when two Android users walked in. They didn't know I was there. They were complaining about their S4's fragmentation and the lack of al-loo-minium. The little guy who wore skinny jeans and had the hands of a teenage girl just wouldn't shut up about his phone being too big. I wanted to just yell out "YOU SHOULDA GOT AN IPHONE!" The other guy was quietly weeping and muttering 'snappier' over and over again.

Before they left, they gave each other a comforting hug and I overheard them say to each other, "Just keep telling everyone we like it so they won't realize our true level of customer satisfaction with Android is much lower than the 76 it received on the most recent survey." The last thing I heard was the little guy dropping his phone and the other guy said, "Dude, your holding it wrong."

True story bro:rolleyes:

Lots of needless butthurt here.

Do you like the phone you use? That's all that matters.

Just wow, the statistics are biased? Ah the hypocracy

One must defend the honor of its phone... apparently.

Motorola Mobility sold phones in 2013?

Doesn't matter, the survey is not about 2013 phones but phones in general. Someone who is still satisfied with their RAZR could be in there too. :p

Who needs a smart phone anyways. I think people will wake up and realize they are wasting their life poking at a little box like a chimp, while at the same time they have lost many real friends, after buying into 2 year contracts which are more and more becoming mainline advertisement feeds. I hope Apple, Samsung and Microsoft all go out of business, and people learn how to really be social again. It won't happen on this forum, and it won't happen on a smart phone. I think and hope sales will continue to drop. Better to invest our money somewhere more socially responsible.

Yeah! When is this whole internet fad going to die down, anyway?! Amirite guys?

I'm more satisfied with seamless functionality over pointless features.

I agree!! "pointless features" like having access to a file system, expandable memory slot, ssh, the ability to use alternative mail clients, sms clients, customizable keyboards, etc. Who would want any of that? I for one, love having to dig through pages of emails to find an attachment because I cannot save it.

I bought the original Iphone at release, Iphone4 and Iphone5. Unfortunately, I jumped ship about 3 months ago and went to the Samsung Note 2. Im not saying its perfect either, but it gives the functionality that the iphone lacks. IOS hasnt had a significant change since IOS 3. Android has done nothing but get better. Apple should certainly be concerned.

It's a chicken and egg thing. If there was more dissatisfaction Samsung would not be selling so many devices. They wouldn't be making inroads if customers weren't happy. This is a rate not an absolute number.

Maybe losing ground, but still way ahead.

Meh 5% isn't really what I'd call "way ahead." Plus Apple is going down in customer satisfaction. Although I'm pretty happy with my Mac.

Clearly, Apple and the iPhone are doomed

Clearly!

Haters can hate on Samsung all they want, but IMO, they've done more things that Apple has with iOS lately. Haters gonna hate.

damn Samsung ... now they are even copying the customer satisfaction !

Apple better sue!

Samsung introduces new features. iPhone fans call it useless and pointless.

Apple introduces the same features later on. iPhone fans call it amazing!

The trend is terrible.

Will Apple be able to hang on to its PR advantages over the years? What happened to "It Just Works"? What happened to "When it doesn't work, simply shlep to a suburban shopping mall and get helped by a friggin' Genius?"

The trends are disturbing.

What's next? "When it doesn't work, and the best help we provide some college aged kid who couldn't get a better job, we'll give you your money back?"

Working your propaganda machine into overdrive. What advantage? We are not talking market share or something. It how a company deals with support of its own products.

Android / Samsung fanbois bashing Apple. Did see that one coming.

What's your point? Look at posts like iGrips and it's all pretty evenly spread all over the place...

It will be interesting to see if the satisfaction rating changes when Apple starts doing the in store repairs instead of exchanging the phone for a refurb.

Really? I had been using android for the past 2 years. I recently switched to iPhone 5 because I wanted something a little smaller and I had tons of apps from iPod touch.

I had no problems whatsoever with my gs2 and note 2. I'm kinda of missing my note 2

You know, I get the BEST customer service when I walk into a Samsung store. They are the most helpful people. If there's something wrong with my phone, they replace it on the spot.

Oh wait

Buy American kids.

Why is it the mods on an Apple fan site ban Apple fans but do nothing about the paid Samsung and Google shills when they break the forum rules?

Pathetic.
