It never came close to 8%, ~6.4% was as low as I saw. Check out The Bogglehead's Guide to Investing for anyone interested. It is an older book, but as good as they get.

It's rebounded the bulk back

AAPL is already passed $343.

By the day's end it will have nearly, if not surpassed, it's close on Friday, in after hours trading.

So much for the PANIC!!

Benjamin Grahams book should be the first book any investor reads. Buffett swears by it. I'll have a look at your book too.

Any book that claims it will help you beat the market etc etc. Is not worth buying, if someone had the formula for success then they certainly wouldn't be telling anyone.

I'll buy AAPL when Steve Jobs actually dies. These fake leaves of absence are killing my portfolio. :D

BTW, it will be hillarious when SJ dies. Bye bye retirement peoples. It'll be a long overdue correction. AAPL is way overbought.

Please don't bite anyone, its whats he craving!!!

Apple is clearly undervalued, anyone who is worth their salt knows that.

AAPL is just massively manipulated by a few large investors, they capitilised on the bad news by selling a few but then bought more afterwards!

Yeah people look at history. Last time Steve Jobs went away, Apple almost disappeared. Explains the jitters.

Uh, anyone who looks at 15 years ago, and thinks its even remotely the same company today, is unstable.

good time to buy?

Unless you are willing to throw down a ton of money (and i mean a lot of money.) I would not recommend it. Consider how many shares you need to generate a decent profit for yourself, adding in charges you will incur such as brokerage fees, federal taxes, broker commission charges, etc...

Remember buy low, sell high.

buying apple at (high) is not a good idea. just my 2c.

Every investor knows that it's unlikely Steve Jobs is coming back. Death is already factored in.

That's what they said the first 2 times!!! Tell you what, if he dies, you can sell me your shares!! LMAO :D:D

I have a different take on this. Apple with Jobs at the helm has obviously done extremely well. And yet he's a very polarizing figure, as are the masses who buy into his arrogance & attitude of superiority.

Much like the Dead Heads eventually faded after Gerry Garcia's passing, the Apple Zealots will have no one to bow down to and worship. This will serve Apple extremely well as the companies culture will even out as well.

The senseless menacing, largely ego driven lawsuits, will no longer be launched at Google and others. Apple will become a mature citizen in the tech sector and other CEO's outside of tech will then see Apple in a more professional light. This will enable Apple to grow & aquire corporate business with less resistance from mainstream corporations.

It will take awhile for things to settle down and for this transition to occur, but it will not long after there's a changing of the guard.

Over the last year I've seen it drop more and come back.

This is something the rabid anti-apple crowd are getting excited about. Nothing to see here.

You don't understand. This is 100% Steve Jobs company. Every single thing and idea revolves around him. If he wants to develop a mouse that's shaped like Beyonce's ass, he gets a mouse shaped like Beyonce's ass.

When he dies, the company will survive, but the brand name will be tarnished and the products will never be the same. We've never seen a company so dependent on its CEO.

Eh... it is probably more accurate to say that it is the perception that Apple is 100% Steve Jobs. Without Jobs Apple probably won't be the same as it was, and in time it will probably show to take on some more typical corporate traits and make some more bad decisions, but I think doom and gloom beyond this is unwarranted. Apple's leadership adheres to a management style which will survive Steve Jobs.

AAPL is in a bubble.
AAPL is a little temperamental but it is the opposite of a bubble.

This is exactly what I was alluding to earlier.

Apple will be Stronger, Grow Larger, Be More Profitable, and be devoid of Apple Tax. The Best of Apple is Yet to come. Once out from under the thumb of a CEO like SJ, everything will level out and grow even stronger. The product line will be broader and people will witness an amazing transformation.
