Glad I just went back to iPadOS 15.6 to get the 8-9 hour of screen-on time back. On 15.6.1 I got 3-4 hours of SOT (11” iPad Pro 3rd generation). Strange enough on my 13 Pro Max SOT didn’t have that drop, but still was not on par with 15.6 so I downgraded my iPhone too. For me 15.6 is one of the best iOS 15 versions.

Well it is a couple of weeks before Apple sells new iPhones. Batterygate, here we come again.

I have a 13 Mini, and its battery life has always sucked.

I hope they continue to provide security updates for iOS 15 like they did for iOS 14 after 15 was released.

Still waiting for iOS 12.6 security update to fix zero day vulnerabilities on my devices.

I presume you can read.
"Released on August 17, iOS 15.6.1 had no new feature additions, but it does include a critical security fix that addresses kernel and Webkit vulnerability that could lead to arbitrary code execution."
Only an idiot would want to downgrade.
Oh.......wait.......
Yeaaaah, but what if iOS 15.6.1 accidentally introduced some issues that they didn't notice, but seriously effects some specific users?

And how "critical" is this "critical security fix"? I never update any of my OS's the very second some "critical security fix" becomes available, and yet none of my devices have magically exploded. I always hold off waiting to hear if some annoying bug has been introduced or not before I update. Especially with Apple OS's, with their control freaky lack of ability to downgrade, and their tragically poor quality control and lack of testing.

But, but, but, it's only a security update, nothing else was changed, it can't possibly introduce a bug that could critically effect any users.... yeah, right, as if.

Only an idiot would rush to upgrade to the latest Apple OS when downgrading isn't available.

iOS 14 only had 2 updates when iOS 15 was released, iOS 14.8 within the same month iOS 15 was released then iOS 14.8.1 was released in October 2021 which was the last iOS 14 update then they focused on iOS 15

I am also interested in going back to previous versions but unless Apple changes their minds or makes a mistake, I don't think they will allow downgrades officially.

Following the launch of iOS 15.6.1 last Wednesday, you’re stuck with it forever now.
Glad my iPhone 6 stopped updating before the move to the jumbled cacophony of ui elements flying out in all directions every time any part of the display is touched. I used a current iPhone a couple days ago, and wow, what a mess. So much for efficiency.

iOS 15 broke compatibility with my Apple TV 3rd Gen.
iOS 14 air played just fine. iOS 15 it doesn’t even show in the screen mirroring control center. Also can no longer connect hotspot to my 3rd Gen. Immediately says password is incorrect even before typing the password. Tried reset but still fails to connect. Apple is deliberately coding out connectivity.
I wonder if iOS 16 will code out my Apple Tv which Apple discontinued.

Screen mirroring and AirPlay works fine on my Apple TV 3rd gen using my iPhone X (15.6.1).. Using it as a hotspot doesn't and exhibits the same behavior you're describing.
