Is iOS 15.7.2 still available for devices that are compatible with 16.2 though?
On my iPhone 8, I'm stuck with 15.7.1. I don't want to upgrade to 16.2 and Apple refuses to release 15.7.2 and its security updates to me. Complete crap on Apple's part! My iPhone 6s+, which I use as a backup, got the 15.7.2 release, so it's technically more secure than my newer phone. Rediculous!
15.7.2 isn’t showing up for me in software update, only 16.2. I’m on 15.7 and at least want the security fixes in 15.7.1…
Did they remove 15.7.2? I don't see that option on my 15.7.1 13 Pro :(

For those who want to update their iPhones to 15.7.2, you may have to read my guide:

[GUIDE] How to update to iOS 15.7.2 for iPhone 8/X/XR/Xs/11/12/13

According to my calculations, you can still theoretically upgrade to iOS 15.7.2 before January 31, 2023, but you better hurry up because apple can prevent this upgrade in the next second.

Thank you for that, but that seems way too complicated for me to try. No doubt I'd screw something up and brick my phone.

Complicated? not in my opinion, there are only 3 steps, if you don't have many photos it only takes 1 hour to complete, and it won't brick your phone.

If you encounter any problems during the upgrade process you can reply in that thread, I'm sure many people can help you.

Anyway, the choice is yours and the window to upgrade will close soon.

Sure no one has tried iOS 16.2. Or has upgraded from a release you are on. Or a phone you are on. If you’re worried just upgrade.
Are you an Apple salesman/fanboy? I'm not upgrading my phone to some new b.s. operating system when my present one works just as fine. Apple pushes new operating system on older phones because they know it slows them down, because the processors can't handle the new requirements, pushing the owners to buy another new shiny toy. Screw that!

Yes.

Then don’t. It doesn’t affect me any way. I’m telling you you aren’t the first to upgrade from your current configuration. You’ll have to live with the vulnerabilities if you don't upgrade.

My Xs max has not slowed down under iOS 16. To me there is some amount of confirmation bias. It used to be more true with 32bit processors, but less true with 64bit, expect for the iphone 6 which apple made a bad decision with the memory. iPhone 5s went from iOS 7 to iOS 12 and it still works well.
