Siri spelled "MacBook Pro" wrong? They make Siri look it up for you, but they don't add it to the word list for typing correction?

----------

There. Fixed that for you. And yes, since you mentioned it, it does work fine for me. Use it all the time. Love it.

It works, but is it useful?

Ok hold the phone

how do you get the RSSI to display next to the carrier instead of fricken signal bars?!!!
:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

It's a feature available on jailbroken iDevices only.

----------

Oddly enough, Siri doesn't seem to understand "Lightning Cable". When I asked where I could buy one, three times it thought I said "whitening cable" and when it recognized Lightning correctly, it wanted to do a web search.

When Siri underlines something with blue dots, it's because it wasn't completely sure of what you said. Tapping words underlined in blue in the Siri interface will allow you to select other suggested terms that may've been what you actually said if Siri didn't understand the input the first time.

I wonder if i can load an apple store gift card that I already have onto passbook with the update now... Been looking through the app but havent been able to figure out how to integrate it

Oh.

Wow, a new 'feature' to buy even more Apple stuff, man their greediness...
When are they going to add really useful features like: "Siri turn wifi off"

Open the phone app, dial *3001#12345#* and press call. This will take you into the hidden Field Test app which shows cell diagnostic information. To keep the RSSI display, hold the power button to get the 'slide to turn off' switch, then let go and hold the home button instead. This will quit the app but keep the indicator. Once you've done this, you can tap the indicator to switch between numbers and bars.

You don't need to be jailbroken to do this, but you will have to repeat this procedure to get the numbers back if you restart the phone.

siri sucks, used it on my 4s maybe a handful of times until i got tired of it, havent even bothered on my mini

I actually use it alot, glad Siri understands my accent :D

I use it to set reminders, book appointments, text my gf while driving, making calls while driving... pretty handy :)

I asked Siri for iPad Mini smart cover

I've seen this posted a few times in this thread but I'm not sure if it's sarcasm or not. I saw a bunch of iPad Mini smart covers at Best Buy (Canada) the other day. All the same colours as the regular sized Smart Covers. No leather and no Smart Cases as of yet though (afaik).

D.

Apple adding functionality to Siri STILL gets negative responses?

You're thinking too narrow here. Of course it is not a bad thing that Siri is improved, but Apple's warped priorities in improving the service are. Siri still does not support many other languages, several services are US-only and competitor's products (read: Android) have actually beaten Siri in terms of speed and reliability. The list of Siri improvements is long and yet Apple manages to push its own products first. I find that absolutely disappointing.

Its a small welcomed update. Other things take time.

On your other points I can't be bothered to keep going over the same stuff. :)

LOL what a fail. It's faster to boot up the app then to use Siri.

Me: Siri, how do I get home?
Siri: Sorry, I didn't get that. But would you like to search the Apple store for our latest products, so you can spend more money?

ok...Could come in handy.

Would be nice if you could tell siri to order an apple product for you...:)

As long as Siri doesn´t go rampant and orders every single item from the Apple store and charges you automatically through iTunes :p

Haha, I was just thinking that.

"How much is a MacBook Pro?"
"OK, I have ordered a 17" MacBook Pro for you. Your credit card has been charged."
"... No! Wait!"

Hmmm, I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for posting. Sorry for providing incorrect info about a jailbreak being required to get the RSSI.

I've lost the will to live.

From what I've read, Siri did this before the update. And I still don't really get the point of Siri just opening up the Apple Store app. I would think that Apple could find a way to send the information directly to Siri, similar to how sports scores, movies, etc. are displayed right there in Siri's interface.
