iPhone 11 Pro Max Apple store app upgrade question

My wife has an upgrade available on her line so I was going to use the Apple store app on my phone to get the 12 pro max and give her my 11 pro max. And will trade in her iPhone 8 Plus to get the discount.

It’s been ages since I used the Apple store app to preorder an iPhone. When I go to preorder in the Apple. It obviously doesn’t let me get far only to pick out which max color you want and if you have a phone to trade it.

My question is. Will it ask me near the end when preorders begin which account I am upgrading? It doesn’t ask which account I’m upgrading in the beginning.

It will ask you later in the flow after you pick model, size, color. Test it with a pro if you want to see. You’ll have to have her phone handy it will text her a code you’ll need to verify due to ordering from your phone and your phone has a different number.
