No worries. If your phone is under warranty, any parts and labour which require your phone to be replaced is free-of-charge. The appointment does not cost anything as well.

Good luck! :)

Thanks for the quick reply

Appointments at the Genius bar are free regardless if your product is under warranty or not. Usually they will do a quick check to see what the problem is. If they can't figure out what's wrong and the product is no longer under warranty then they will charge you a diagnostic fee which is normally deducted from the repair cost if you choose to get it repaired. If under warranty all this free as long as the fault/issue is not user created.

Thanks for the info.

I believe if your phone is only 30 days old they would replace it with a brand new one, however it is past this period of time you will receive a refurbished replacement. :)

Thanks I had it for 5 months now. That kind of sucks to get a refurb but better than nothing

you never know how a particular genius will handle a problem with your iphone on any given day. i went there last week with a completely unsuable, water-damaged iphone, which is not covered under warranty. i was expecting to pay the standard $200 and instead the genius just swapped out my phone for a flawless refurb. if you are having any kind of problem with your phone, and you live relatively close to an apple store, it could hurt to take a trip down there.

Was that phone still under warranty?
Either way, this gives me a little bit of hope. I'm gonna try and see if I can get it replaced or at least repaired.

Even if the phone was still under warranty, user damage/water damage automatically voids it. So no, the phone was not under warranty.

awadeee is correct, water damaged is considered out of warranty even if youve only had the phone for 1 week of your 1 year warranty. if you have an actual mechanical issue i would hope a genius would help you out
