Wait: I thought they didn't offer student discounts at physical locations?

Ya, I too was under the impression that the student discount was only available online.

It's hard to believe that control-freak Apple would let this happen, but anecdotal evidence show that the policy seems to be up to the store manager. Many times we've heard that a particular store doesn't sell with student discounts, but also that another store let a university student get a discount by showing ID. Call the store(s) in your area and ask.

Turns out that even though I thought that the sale price on an iMac was not really so great someone I know asked me to help them buy it at that price. So the sale did get Apple one more sale directly.

I've bought hardware (the powerbook I'm using right now, for instance) at student discount at the NH (Rockingham Park Mall) Apple Store. Its worth the trip from MA, since there are no taxes there. :D

I have often thought about traveling to NH. Now with the high gas prices, probably the only big saving would be with the purchase of a computer.
