Both these things assume that they know.

Once an exact date for Leopard is announced people who buy new machines are allowed to upgrade for just the cost of the disk and shipping. Therefore, Apple usually doesn't announce a date until about two weeks before release.

and a really great back to school promo in the Uk would be handy - I'd cancel my MBP order (which they are so slow at completing) and start again

I've been out but was in meadowhall so could check at apple, someone had already been though, in safari apple uk store and macrumors page =]
