It has built-in audio.

Mighty Mouse even sounds as good as it feels. The audio feedback built into Mighty Mouse provides an aural sensation that responds to your movements. A tiny speaker inside Mighty Mouse produces button-clicking and Scroll Ball-rolling sound effects.

That said getting approval for any other mouse from her indoors may be difficult.

Oh go on... just buy one. Be a man, not a mouse. Boom boom!

Sorry. Couldn't resist. ;-)

I'm just waiting to see the price on the UK store now!

That. Is. So. cool.

I'm just in awe.
How did I not hear about this before it was released?

I think I knew on some level.. I woke up today about an hour before the page was updated. I'm an Apple Psychic! Now, give me $49 + 8.25% tax for my services and I'll be on my way...

I wonder how the 360 scrolling works. Does the knob rotate, move to the side like one of the purple Dell mouse knobs in the middle of the keyboard or if it is touch sensitive, so that you kind of just stroke your finger up and down and around the knob for the desired effect.
Maybe it's just a British thing, but am I the only one who nearly choked trying hard not to LOL reading that last sentence ;) :D

:D Couldn't resist ... The question (without the undertone) still stands though.

No Australian Student Union deal (unfortunate, but no biggie) and no Australian Mighty Mouse (not on).

Apple is really starting to make us pay for being Sony/BMG's little anti-iTMS fiefdom.

I can't believe Apple uses the entire front page of their web site to promote a stupid mouse with features that are just so standard and basic on any mouse and hype it like it's 1999.

Any of you have a 3rd gen iPod with 4 touch sensitive buttons on top. They look good but are just plain annoying to use. Sound is added only to not make it completely useless as the iPod is not responding in the instance you press a button. Without the sound you have no cue if you pressed the button or not. Adding sound to the mouse is just to make an inferior technology (usabilitywise) barely usable.

Mighty Milk

Now in a supermarket near you fresh Migthy Milk contained in a soft white plastic bag. Squeeze it anywhere to spill your milk. Can also be used in Cocoa. Holy cow!

I actually prefer the 3G design to the 4G. The click wheel.. ehh doesn't float my boat.

It doesn't suddenly go off for no reason... I think it's more usable than the 4G.
To each his own.

It is a big deal. Apple have always had a one-button mouse. They are bound to hype it up. Why wouldn't they, even if it does have standard features. They have just introduced a new product.

It may have standard features, but they have been implemented in typcial Apple stylie. Making it unique.

I know its a bit early to say this but does anyone know if the 'mighty mouse' is included with the mac systems i.e. Powermac and iMac?

btw the new mouse sounds great! ^_^

iPod and iTunes for Windows.
Apple to Intel.
Apple release multiple buttoned mouse.

Hell froze over. And Apple has grown up.

About bloody time. :)

.............................

well, for apple going away from the one-button mouse concept is even more earth shattering than the whole intel switch. soon we get an eject button on the superdrive

It says £35 + free shipping. Though when I try and order one it comes to just over £40?

I thought pretty much all the prices on the online store included VAT . . .

i phoned them up and ordered - free shipping - £35 total. they said the 'glitch' online will be sorted by the morning.

im not sure i even want one! i love being wireless - with mouse and keyboard so in that sense this purchase is a step back! oh well.... hopefully theyll release a bt version at some point and ill keep the wire one as a back up
