so I was at the store today and I wanted to check the new cases cuz of all the fuzz. They only had the old 6 plus cases so I asked the Apple guy if they have any new cases in stock and the guy said "these are all new cases, the old ones doesn't fit". So I said, "no they fit, I know I have both and they fit".

Is that what they were trained to say? Looks like a marketing ploy lol.

They're mindless so don't worry. I tried applying for a job at an Apple store when I was in my late teens. I probably knew more about their products than even the senior salesperson in the store but I never received a call back. They seem to hire at random and not based off of skill set.

They are only staff. After speaking with several at my local Apple Store I can conclude they are no different to staff at other retailers. Some are fantastic, others clearly have no interest in customer service.

I got told to go away and come back in 15 minutes by an Apple employee when I arrived slightly early to pick up my iPhone, as I had no where to go I stood there and watched him play with his phone and chat to another member of staff. I took that opportunity to approach another member of staff who went and got my phone for me. Thx Apple..... I'm certainly not enjoying the inconsistency

When I commented on Apple not producing enough iPhone 6s Plus' an Apple employee responded with "yes we do. We produce enough stock, we get deliveries daily, if we didn't do this we would run out of stock within the first week" I saw no point trying to explain myself to someone who is clearly stupid.

LOL I love how you only shared negative experiences with the Apple store. Apple is becoming too large.

Well, I guess the people are the same as in Best Buy or whatever. It's not very consistent. I feel humiliated when I have quite a lot of knowledge regarding Apple, while the chances of me working there are near zero.

I often research items to the Nth degree before I buy them and due to this I (obviously) end up knowing more about any given product than most salespeople, not just Apple reps. It's the way of retail and to be fair most Apple reps are better than you would find elsewhere. I also rate Ikea staff on the whole too.

To be honest, Apple Stores hire two types of people...
A. Outgoing vibrant, smiley people with retail experience at brands like Starbucks, Nordstrom, JCrew or similar.
B. People like us, who are passionate, techy, knowledgeable fans of all things Apple.

So sometimes you get a "bad Apple". There are good, knowledgeable people that work there but they usually are not in sales.

By the way, the new leather definitely is smoother and less grainy than last year. I wouldn't call it cheap like some people are claiming. It feels nice I like it.

That's exactly what I was looking for; excellent. Personally, I kind of like the texture it creates.

About the post where the person stands for 15 minutes playing with a phone and chatting. While out of context, you don't know if they're finishing up an existing thing or talking about Reddit stuff. But .. I think I would have asked the other employe who helped where to give store feedback about customer service, because you didnt' feel you were taken serious by his colleague.
