No, I don't think so. It's just a discount Apple passes on to employees of companies they do a lot of business with. I get discounts at a bunch of places through work, and it's just companies we deal with, Apple is one of them. Apple eats the cost of the discount.

Online, much like the education pricing, you can probably get away with it if you're not eligible since it's based on the honor system and they only randomly check orders, but please, don't do it if you're not eligible and ruin the discount for the rest of us.

Yes, you can definitely do that. I did it last weekend when I bought my MacBook. I just showed my badge and got my discount.

You may be able to call Apple and find out I don't know if they give out that info, but for my company, we have a list of all the stores we get discounts at available on our intranet. Yours might have something similar. Ask around at work, someone there has to know.

yo thanks a lot you juss put an approval stamp on everything
and the EPP price i get on my iMac is $1287 from Apples $1399
so im happy:D ... any savings is savings

and i won't abuse the EPP i'm was just curious

and im really happy so many people confirmed the going to the Apple store and getting a discount :D

My boss posted up a flyer thing that said we get discount from apple
there was a number, web link and email
so it worked out thank god i work for a well run McDonald's that cares about its employees

Thanks, I will see if I can find anything out. I was planning to order it online, so it would be great to be able to purchase in store.

Thanks again!

Not to steal the thread, but I thought it would be better to ask in here than start a new one.

Is there any way to check if your company is part of this program? I'm assuming my company isn't because it is not a well known company, though quite large. However, I'm thinking my brother may be able to get the discount, but I don't know how to find out which companies offer it.

Thanks!

You can start by asking your Human Resources Manager.

When I went in there to buy my macbook, when they applied the discount after they pulled out a big paper lists of all the company discounts. I'd ask if your company was on that list. It can't hurt.

I would imagine this is how it works (no direct experience though):

The "savings" you actually get is passed on to your employer who then pays Apple back for the difference in price (or perhaps just a little bit of the difference). It is then up to your employer to check if you are still a valid employee. If so, great -- working as intended. If not, I would imagine the employer coming after the ex-employee purchaser for the money to pay Apple with and possible court action. I don't think it would be worth trying to beat the system for a few hundred bucks.

Doesn't always work like that. Where my wife works, and where I work, this discount is instant, and i only pay the discounted price. I've ordered from my wife's company in my name for her) and it was never queried.

YMMV of course.

yes

1. Call your pay/finance/personel/boss and ask
2. Calll Apple and ask

:)

EPP also offers discounts on ipods, whereas the educational store does not. Like one of the previous posters stated, EPP is a percentage rather than a set discount on certain products.

Has anyone ordered from The Apple website
on the EPP section
EPP (think it means Employee Personal/Pricing page)

My place of employment(McDonald's) gives Apple discount and it leads
to the the Employee Discount Page on the Apple Store

but i was wondering if anyone had experience buying from it?
and things went in the ordering process???

Hi:

Yes, I have used it before and it offers a small discount on select products only. But, it is certainly worth using if you have access to it. You can access at http://retailcodes.com/retailers/apple-employee-purchase-program

Good luck!

corpshop, you're new here so you get a BIT of a pass, though you DO realize that you posted in a 7 year-old thread, right?
