Hey Siri, what year is it? If it's 2015, why does the Apple Store still have to go down for several hours before a keynote?!
Agreed, though I think its part of the way Apple does things to increase excitement and anticipation.

So do the brick and mortar stores close as well - kind of silly to shut down the stores.

This will be my first year EVER buying a iPhone from AT&T. I've had every iPhone on day one since the first iPhone. It seems that's the only way I can do a two year contract :(

Two iPhone 6S' and 2 ATV's for me :D

I don't know anything about updating a website. How long would that normally take to do?

How could they take the store down now? I wanted to buy an iPhone 6, right now, argh!

I still don't get it ... Isn't it wastefull to take Online Store down , even for a few hours ? How much people would still use it to buy something today , be it a cable or a watchband ??? Or are all prices shifting , when new generation of products come?

I think that Apple has always played catch up. There have been better-spec'd computers, higher capacity MP3 players, bigger smartphones, and desktop-level tablets, but every few years, Apple has made a successful consumer-friendly version of each. I don't know why people have grown to expect frequent innovation—much less be disappointed when there isn't.

Boy... do I disagree with this statement. True, Apple has rarely been the "spec" leader, but they have made so many little and big innovations along the way as long as I can remember and I've been into computers since 1979.

A comment about the store being down... seems rather early so I'm guessing there are many many changes being turned on and tested right now. This should be a good day. I'll be all over the new Apple TV if it lives up to the rumors.

True. Definitely not all pricing changes. This is one of those practices that have been around for years and no one really wants to bother with a new better practice.

Why would you want a phone that big? Please enlighten me.

A note... I've always thought Apple should just offer the 4G versions of the iPads with full phone capabilities. Not that I'd want to have a 10" phone... but it could be useful for businesses or even for consumers if you could dynamically use your iPad with your current phone account so that it's the same number and same everything as your normal iPhone.

The new AppleTV will be interesting, but cannot be an alternative to a real console and it will also lack 4K output.

4K will come and go quicker than 3D did, trust me. 8K and HDR will soon be upon us. Apple would be better at this point developing for these. Netflix are already rolling out HDR!

For the mainstream, HDR will be of more benefit to people who dont want 60+ inch TVs.

Well, they did bring that whole GUI thing, which is so popular these days, to the computing world, and MP3 players, smartphones, and tablets were relegated to geekdom prior to Apple's versions. What most people consider to be Apple displaying innovation are these infrequent category redefinitions that leave the market dramatically changed, and those shouldn't be expected at each keynote.

I wish I were excited, but I am not really. It will be nothing revolutionary. Apple plays catch up these days.
1. Amazingly good Touch ID which was copied by Samsung and Android
2. Apple Pay which got it right despite Google trying before and now copied too
3. Apple Watch which is most popular and profitable wearable watch. Despite many Samsung devices, Apple has just one and winning
4. Innovative silent taptic feedback on Apple Watch. Copied already?
5. Adding Metal for all UI animations —> increasing battery life and performance. Android is not even close
6. Reducing iOS size and app sizes
7. Motion co-processor
8. Multi tasking done right and simple
9. File system done right, simple and secure

Very true. Apple were late comers to every market they have entered, bit its strange that every market they have entered, the competition starts making apple 'clones'.

What did laptops, mp3 players, and tablets all look like before apple started developing them. Funny how all the companies now make their products look like Apples.

Apple plays catch up, but so does every other company.

Also, Apple leads more than any other company as well. Apple doesn't just put spec-sheets out, they create products that work, which in turn cause other companies to catch up with the spec-sheet only crap they released previously (some examples: Touch ID, Apple Pay, Apple Watch, app-based security)
