I too am from Australia, and I asked a few months back when I purchased my MBP, if they would put their Apple SSD in it at the Apple store and they turned that option down, so, that is extremely odd that they will put in a 3rd party drive in, if they wouldn't even put their own in....
Their reason was because they only do RAM upgrades instore........
