I've been reading about shipping times for the 2021 14 and 16" Macbook Pros slipping, and seeing people suggest that they look locally. I was able to find my machine locally last November, but looking is really luck of the draw. You can't really be sure when inventory is updated. I started looking for an Apple Store inventory checking site (like people use to get Playstations and graphics cards) and instead found a script that someone wrote specifically for the purpose of checking Apple Store inventory to look for these machines. Even better, someone took the script and put it into App form. You put in your preferred Apple Store, choose the models you want and it checks at an interval you set and shows you a list of every model currently in stock at local stores and will notify you if your model comes in. It can even search for custom configurations. Hope it helps some of you.

i was told if I ordered it online, I might get it I’m the middle of march.
I am not an online buyer. I checked local Apple store and they had the base 16 MBP for in store pickup.
I went down and waked out with one.

For those in the US, I found a 16" MBP M1 Pro model with 32GB of ram and a 512GB SSD:

Nice app, cant get the filters to work though unless Im doing something wrong

The app lists all available models in the main window. What you select in the preferences are the preferred models you are looking for. Normally it alerts you whenever it finds any available model, but selecting alerts for preferred models only notifies you when that specific model is found.

Any way to select multiple areas? I'm able to see a few stores around me, but willing to travel of course. I seem to only be able to select 1 county area. Just downloaded the app and opened it, nothing else

At the moment it only works with one... the page you download it from says to contact them with requests to make it better..

I finally was able to get a 16" 32 core using this app. I missed 2 chances by literally SECONDS, and finally landed the 3rd try around 7PM one night. At one point I checked every single store on this app in the country and there were literally none. Since I bought mine, not a single one has popped up anywhere within 80 miles of my area.

What's weird to me is that there are no 16" 32 core machines anywhere in LA, but there are 14" 32 core machines at every store.

Am I correct that you can't specify the RAM amount?
Why would you? Any deviation from pre-built RAM is considered BTO/CTO, so not stocked in-store on a usual basis, unless something like readily available cheat "CTO/BTO" smth like 32gb/1tb, 64gb/2tb.

There has only been 3 that have popped up in over a full week time, I was able to snatch one of them. There are literally NO 32 core machines anywhere, even when I checked the whole country. I have the app running just to see when they even come up still, not a single one since I bought mine, not 1.

Would prefer to be able to specify more than one store... there are 5 stores in my proximity, but I can only specify a singe "preferred" store.
