I recently found my iPhone 4 camera always give me a green spot in my pictures. So I ended up in the w14th apple store NYC at 9am.

The lady from genius bar didn't even intend to do hardware test. She took a look at my pictures and said it's not an issue. She denied my request for replacement and wouldn't do anything to help me with this. So I walked out with anger and thought I might try another store.

I came to soho store 1 hour later. The genius took a look at same pictures and said he has seen this issue before and will run a hardware test then get me a replacement. So in the end I have my iPhone 4 simply replaced at soho store.

I'm just confused why the genius from w14st store refused to acknowledge the issue and do something for me. She could at least do some hardware test then tell me if it's an issue or not. I wonder is there any individual store policy for each store?

Same for every store. She was wrong, probably hoping you woukd just go away and save apple a few dollars.

True, all the phones have this issue. It's more of a fluorescent light issue than an iPhone issue. No point in repeating the details for the umpteenth time but try different lighting.

First off, stop calling them "genius".

You could've asked to speak to her supervisor and told that person that the genius refused to do a hardware test. It helps if you have sample pictures that obviously show the problem.

You should've asked for a second opinion from another genius. Too late now I guess. But this is something my iPhone has too.. it's pretty annoying. Only happens when I take a picture of some solid color, other than black, in a room that has florescent lights.
