I guess people shouldn’t be buying the more expensive iPhone 16 or 16 Pius either as they too are "already a year behind” (more like 150 days) because they have the A18 chip?

It's terrible. None of my Apple stuff works any more since a new generation piece of kit has come out for each device. Horrible. I wish Apple would stop doing this and just let stuff keep working.

More like $120 if you are comparing same storage size. The 16e is also notably larger and has several new/updated features over the SE 3.
They could have kept it at 64gb of storage. Nevermind that doubling the storage probably costs Apple few dollars at most. The major selling point of the SE was the price, not the number of features it had (or lacked) compared to a flagship model.

I expected more colors. Did the red SE3 come later in 2022? But I don't mean only that one.

As an existing SE user I don't care about Apple "Intelligence", I just want a solid phone at a reasonable price. €1089 for the 512 GB version is not reasonable whatsoever.
The market is shifting away from folks that like the small phones.
You’re lucky you’ve got a new phone option at all. Large phones are the trend.

Imagine wanting a smartphone that’s tiny and doesn’t have smart features on it. Should buy a TCL flip phone that’ll suit your needs better.

We were teased with a new family member. 16e is just a rebranded SE (#)—not a new family member, IMHO. I hope the day brings surprises.
I'm getting the impression that "new member of the family" might refer to the E now getting an OLED display, so it's a "new member of the iPhones with OLED displays" family, or maybe as you say just "new iPhone 16", meaning simply changing "iPhone SE #X" to "iPhone 16E". Either way, it's stretching the definition of "new member of the family".
