When using the Apple Store app, how do you "refresh" or does the app automatically know when the store is back online?

I went from jet black, to silver, to jet black to silver. And then the app store went down. Looks like silver it is! lol

You have to just double tap and close the app and re-open...

I just force-kill the app and relaunch. I'll probably do that on my phone and check the site on my iPad in case one is faster than the other (though the app has been the most effective in ordering the past 2 years).
