Major maintanence sometimes means that they've put the pages online ready for, say, Tuesday... so they only have to click 'go online' then.
Well, after the update there is now a 30gb(Current Generation) in the refurb store for $209. Only black is available though.
I think the Chat Now is indeed new. Very cool! I just tried it, but it is not available right now. Hmm - 2 hours of downtime to change that on a page? (Just kidding - I'm sure there was other stuff too...)
I guess that means G5 Powerbooks next Tuesday.

maybe, after the slip up the the 8 cores being pre-announced on the uk page, this could indicate a server update and test run to make sure that it is released on time.

We don't have a long enough history with intel to make any such postulations one or another.
Intel did drop prices and silently released some new CPUs, however... they were all Socket T CPUs, not the Socket M CPUs currently used by Apple.
