Apple store offically open?

On the Apple site it says they were opening at 7 for the iPhone. Are they offically open for business or is it just for the iPhone customers? I really want to go get a case, but don't want to waste the drive.

I know, but is it just for pre-orders or is the store open to the public for non 3GS purchases?
