This is my first time ordering an iPhone on preorder day through the Apple Store app. Don’t know how much demand there will be so: Is it required to refresh the product page once the clock hits its time, or does the button automatically get enabled?

I have a big trip upcoming, so its kind of critical to me to get this phone asap.

Interested in this answer as well.

My current planned workaround is refreshing a laptop like a madman and then changing one option on the App Store app to get it to refresh and then order.

Well Apple changed preorder time to 5am PST/8am EST this year. It’s going to be a madhouse lol. I foresee servers crashing.

Not this again... i just survived a limited reservation for the Ghibli museum in Tokyo. It was the most painful 90mins I spent on a computer most recently

Not expecting any issues ordering mine even if it does take a few minutes to get in... but I'm getting the yellow 11.

I'm fairly certain you need to refresh the Apple Store App by closing it and re-launching. You can do that a lot faster than waiting to see if it automatically updates as time slips by

I am going to be on one computer and one iPhone at the same time juggling between:
1. Apple store pre-authorized iPhone 11 in YELLOW for me
2. T Mobile trade in of my son's old 7+ for a HALF PRICED iPhone 11 in RED.

I really don’t feel like it is going to be a madhouse. Preordering isn’t like it use to be. But of course for now, it’s just an opinion until tomorrow lol

This is also my expectation. Ordering iPhones the last few years has been a breeze. Open the app, if the option isn't there, kill the app and try again. Just keeping doing that over and over.

The fact that unlocked sim free iPhones are available for preorder tells me Apple has more than enough phones available. Normally you had to wait a month for the unlocked version. Apple probably has a huge supply to prevent any big hit in profits when the December 15th tariffs go into effect.

Also a sign they are plentiful. I think the SIM free version being available on preorder day has only happened one other time. I know when I bought the X, I had to go with the t-mobile variant because it was the only one you could purchase without carrier info.

I think the apple pre-order will be better. The ghibli museum reservation was limited and the site was not responding for the most part. We have not seen anything worse than that. iPhone is not limited.

There were no issues whatsoever last year despite it being the maiden outing for a plus sized iPhone X model. Many, myself included, anticipated they’d sell out immediately, but they didn’t. Same again when the XR launched - people were predicting some colours would sell out fast but there was widespread availability throughout the morning.

Exactly. There are many more options across many different brands. People don't get excited about a new phone like they did 5 to 10 years ago.

That’s because hardly anyone is willing to stay up until Midnight PT/wake up at 3am ET anymore. This year is different. People will be sleeping on their decision overnight and come tomorrow morning there will be a ton of folks ready.

I’m in the UK where the preorder window previously opened at 8am so that’s always been the case here anyways.

It's my day off tomorrow. I will wake at 659 am, select my phone on the app, and will roll over and be back to sleep by 7:01.

This has been my routine the last few go arounds on these launch days. Reboot the devices the night before, make sure everything is closed out. Or at least the junk that's been staying there since my last cleanout of apps in the background. Then, I open and close the store app till it switches to being able to actually order/get in. My phone has always arrived on the first day.
Hope I didn't jinx myself now!

Hoping it is the same for Green 64GB Max

This is the one thing I don't like about the new time along with it conflicting with school/work for EDTers. Has anyone even heard a reason why they changed it?
