Forgive if this is already out.

Anyone else note that the 'ratings' section in the MobileMe area of the Apple Store is....missing? It's there for all the other items....

I'm tempted to sign up for the $69 trial when I order my new MacBook. Interesting how I can no longer read user's ratings like I used to.

That is interesting, but it's not just MobileMe. Aperture 2, Final Cut Studio, Logic Studio, AirPort Extreme 802.11n* Enabler, Final Cut Server and OS X Leopard Server all are "missing" reviews. Perhaps none of them have enough "useful" reviews to meet whatever minimum standard Apple applies. I can't imagine any company would put a bunch of "Product X sucks"-type reviews on their website.

I thought it might be because of negative reviews, but QuickTime 6 MPEG-2 Playback Component, Garage Band JamPack: Voices and Remote Desktop all have pretty poor reviews.

Yup, Apple got thousands of complaints and emails after the launch of MobileMe probably still a little gun shy

That's what I think as well. But I distinctly remember seeing ratings a bit after the rollout, and thinking, "why would Apple keep these online?"

I'm not willing to call it censorship from Apple, but it sure is interesting.

I love MobileMe. I get tbe box from Amazon for about $80 everyyear and couldn't be happier. That comes out to about $6.67 a month. And I pay $14.99 a month for unlimited SMS! Who's ripping off whom now?

Well it probably is "censorship" but it's also smart a business decision by Apple. With most (if not all) of MobileMe's problems behind them, the lion's share of the complaints that no doubt littered the early reviews no longer apply.

I really like MobileMe. It makes things SO much easier. It may have it's quirks, but I'll definitely stay as subscriber.
