I received a pro 10.5 from the Apple Refurbished Store today. The first thing I did after setting up was to check the details with Coconut Battery. It gave me a build date of November last year, so not too bad, but the battery capacity was listed as 99.9%, with a cycle count of zero. I tried again about ten minutes later and this time the battery capacity had dropped to 99.4%.

My new Air and Mini are both sitting at 100% with cycle counts of 4/5. I also noticed the Pro was quite warm when syncing. And the temperature count recorded by Cocunt Battery was higher than my Air and rising each time I checked.

Is any of this normal? Right now apart from the speakers and the camera i’m a bit underwhelmed by the Pro and think i’d be better off keeping the Air. As for ProMotion, I can’t even notice it.

i have the same build.i also notice that while gaming i play bulletforce get heat faster than my mini 5 but the pro is actually smoother maybe because bulletforce need more ram?anyway im sure 99% capacity is within the so called normal because its been built 6 months ago and im sure battery will degrade overtime even if its not used.i decided to keep the pro because its better in gaming and more fluid because of 120hz display.i think the 60-70 difference of the price is real steal for me imo.

Check at 100% charge. Also batteries are different and this particular one could have slightly less charge. What's the difference between effective and design max charge?

Nothing to worry about.

Thank you. I did that and it did show 100% capacity.

You're worried about 99.9% to 100%?

Yes I was, especially as it was dropping further.

Is this for real?

Yep. I’ve never had a refurb before. I assume it’s okay to ask for reassurance.
[doublepost=1555153310][/doublepost]Thank you to everyone who replied to reassure me. Your comments were much appreciated.

Always check at 100% charge and in a cool room, less charge or very hot room can affect system report. p.s. Better focus on the difference between effective and design max charge on mAh, it should give you more clear picture of your battery state.
