"based on 2,000 survey respondents who purchased a Mac during that period."
How was that done?! Self-reports via the Internet?! LOL! I'll wager that the survey was NOT random and did not produce a representative sample!
The tech press and we readers need to exercise more caution before buying into these marketing surveys! We should also be critical of the findings. The story focused on Macs, but, intriguingly, the sales patterns they reported differed greatly for iPads and iPhones, which raises another host of issues!
"The CIRP survey shows that the picture is very different when it comes to iPads and iPhones, however …
It will come as no surprise to see that around three-quarters of iPhones are bought through carriers, with Apple Stores accounting for just over 10% of sales. What may be somewhat more surprising is that Apple is only the second-largest retailer of iPads, totalling some 20% of sales. The retail lead there is held by Best Buy, which sells a quarter of them." See

As to B & H, let's temper our enthusiasm! They have been the subject of discrimination lawsuits -- as a result of their unfair wages and mistreatment of Latinos and blacks. They were even sued by the Department of Labor!

As the story makes clear, back in 2007, they settled another similar lawsuit for several million dollars!
I used to be a booster of B & H, too, until reading about these complaints!
Sometimes when the deals are too good -- there's a reason for it! Companies that pay their workers less than they should -- and discriminate against workers of color -- often charge less for their products! We shouldn't reward such behavior. Touting them as a place to buy Apple goods without regard to the rest of the story is not being fair or balanced!
