Yesterday I went to the apple store to try and fix an issue with my apple watch series 4. It has the 100% battery issue, shuts off randomly, drains quickly, and slowly charges. I already called support and they couldn't find an issue so I made an appointment to see an apple genius bar. I took it in and they ran diagnostics but came back to tell me there were no issues. I tried my best to convince them something is indeed wrong with my watch but they wouldn't listen. They said I couldn't get a repair or a replacement since no issue was found. I found a thread where others are having the same issue but I doubt apple support will care. Is there anything I can do? There is an issue with it I promise

How long have you had your watch? Try deleting a few random apps that you don’t tend to use and see if that fixes the issue. I have had this issue a couple of times this year but both times it figured itself out by doing something different to fix it. Resetting the watch does nothing.

Since December 2018. I deleted my sleep app and workout apps as well. Nothing fixed the issue unfortunately

Did the issues start after the watchOS 6.2.5 update? I have had the same issue since that update and the 6.2.6 update did not remedy the problem. I just called Apple and the tech ran the diagnostic and found no issues with the software or the battery. I did explain to her that this problem started after the 6.2.5 update and that I have done everything as far as unpairing, setting it as a new watch, hard resets etc. She did put it in the system to have it looked at and will be sending a shipping box for repair. Will update on what happens.

My issues were right at the start when they were released. It turned out my battery issues was the apple podcast app. As soon as I removed it the issues went away. I have since - it and had no issues but certain times after an OS update the issue has come back.

Impossible to explain really.

So the Apple watch cannot cope and work correctly if you use the Apple podcast app? Does that not seem very odd and shows the watch is not fit for purpose?

Well no it has to do with a glitch with a bug in the app that’s causing it to drain and no clearly not it’s still the only smart watch worth buying and it still lasts all day

You get bugs in certain apps no different to any phones

So Apple can't fix a bug in its own app that is causing the battery on its own watch to drain the battery? And many users have had problems with the main feature (always on display) draining the battery so badly that some have reluctantly chosen to turn off that feature (the primary reason why some purchased that watch). Seems like deeming this a watch a worthy buy is a very subjective decision.

Well clearly not everybody has this issue. Anything can trigger a bug not like it doesn’t happen. So it’s not something Apple would need to address

Those who turn off AOD seems pointless might as well get a series 4 If you’re going to do that

Of course it’s a worthy buy. Battery life isn’t perfect but it’s on another level to the comp for what it offers.

There’s a reason why Apple are selling more Apple watches as the comp are selling flagship phones

here’s what you need to do:

You need to be able to replicate the problem yourself, and perhaps if you can record what the Apple Watch is exhibiting by recording video footage with your iPhone when it ‘randomly shuts off‘ or any other tendencies is posing that you’re claiming, then you can show them the video (Which May not be easy, but it’s a secondary option). Also, print off the thread that you’re claiming that matches your symptoms of your Apple Watch, that way you can provide Apple specifically what you’re referring to, so they additional documentation of others experiences aside from your own to match point your experience. That may not necessarily provide you the exact outcome you want, but it might lead you to a different direction.
