Apple store service: using gum or clay to remove dust from iPhone?

Hi there,

I just came back from the Apple Store. My iPhone 12 was full of dust, did not charge anymore and even the headset when I called sounded like i was talking to someone down in a submarine.

They offered to clean the dust, and I agreed. So he did it in front of me, it was some sort of clay/gum they use, and it will take of all the dust. Does someone knows what it is? Where can you buy this?

I googled, but could not find anything.

Look for electronics cleaning putty or cleaning gel.

That pesky ear wax. Although one of the benefits of getting older are hairy ear holes which helps. 🤣
