So my iPhone 4S has a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen and rattles when tapped lightly.

I'm just curious if Apple Stores have stock left? (To my knowledge 1 dead pixel means I get a replacement?)

Call your local store and check.

Check your local store reservation stock online after 9PM. Even if your store doesn't have anything available, you're still required to make the exchange/return within 30 days.

To make an exchange for another new device, you believe it or not still have to reserve one online.

I'm scheduled for 4:30PM today at the Genius Bar (Earliest available)

I was just wondering if I'd have issues getting another... Seems like a pretty standard replacement for me. Never thought of calling (duh!)... 1 sec 😛

Apple has a policy of keeping replacements in stock just for this type of situation.

Per the other poster, Apple stores DO keep stock just for this purpose. I doubt that they are refurbs this close to the 4S introduction and they would likely be new!

If they don't have stock, they will order a replacement for you and notify you when it comes in. You will need to make another genius appointment to pick it up.
