Apple sends two emails. The first email indicates that the trade in has been initiated. They will then evaluate to see if they’re is a location nearby you to bring the device. if not they will send a follow up email saying that a box has been shipped To you.
Each trade-in will come with a shipping box specifically tailored to that device.
Apple does mix and match FedEx and UPS, so double check the shipping label in the boxes.
