Apple Store Trade-In

Anyone have any luck doing this? I hate the way Apple is handling this promotion. I saw I could trade in my iPhone 5s and get a 16GB iPhone SE for $10/month for two years in store only. That would make the 64GB only $14.17/month.

I went to the Apple Store to do this but they were out of stock, so there's nothing they can do to move forward with this. I was thinking they could at least take my 5s and order the SE for me, then let me pick it up when it ships and start charging me at that point or, at the very least, start charging me now.

Nope. I have to wait until they're in stock before I can do anything. They aren't supposed to get any new phones in stock until May 2, so I have to wait until May 2, then go into the store and hope they still have at least one or waste another trip to the Apple Store and come back another time...again.

Ughhh so frustrating.

They're sporadically in stock. Check the Apple website evdry once in a while. It seems they're catching up on inventory.

Btw. I traded a old 4S that was just laying around. Got $50. They went through it pretty thoroughly.

Thanks for posting this! I was planning to go to the store today hoping -- like you said -- that they'd be able to pre-order the SE for me and set me up with the monthly installments plan in exchange for my current 4s, but since they apparently can't do that, I think you've just saved me from wasting a trip.

So yeah, you're not the only one frustrated with how Apple is handling this.

Yep. And it wasn't just one person. I called the store first, but the person I talked to didn't really seem to understand what I was saying, or he just didn't explain himself well. Later that day I just happened to be passing by an Apple Store so I went in and asked someone in person. They called someone else over to confirm. Then I contacted Apple online hoping they could do something to help me, but they said the same thing.

I'm really just nervous that the promotion for trading in my 5s and getting the 64GB SE for $14.17/month is going to expire before I have a chance to get one.
