This is the first year I did not preorder for a launch day delivery. Not because I didn't want the new phone, but because I was out partying in San Diego that weekend and preordering was the last thing on my mind in the bar at midnight in PB.

Anyway, I guess I am not surprised there have been no threads on this as it seems almost everyone did the right thing and preordered. So I was just curious if there is anyone out there that was lucky enough to go in and purchase a new iPhone without a reservation yesterday or today. No new reservations available today for the model I want in the LA area (6s+, 128g, Verizon).

The 6s+ is once again in short supply. Don't feel too bad, I pre-ordered a 6s and a 6s+, the + first, on the first day of pre-orders and only the 6s shipped and was delivered yesterday. The plus is due to ship mid October. I also went and stood in line yesterday morning at my local AT&T store. There were only few 6s+ available and a huge supply of 6s'. I guess I should have tried to buy a + or two instead of two 6s'. I did get my wife the Rose Gold and it is beautiful.

Where/how are you guys seeing this reservation+pick up option? I'm trying apple.com in NYC and nada :(

Edit: Yes, 6s (most colors+storage) and 6s+ (Sprint) generally seems available at one store or the other.

I ordered a 6s and had it delivered yesterday...but realized that I wanted to try a 6s+ instead. So I went to my local Apple store at 2:30, returned my unopened 6s and bought a 6s+. Whole process took 10 minutes. Simple, they had lots of Space Grey in stock, but none of the other colors. For the 6s they had every color available in 64 and 16, but no 128.

I was at the new Upper East Side location and they had two 6s Plus phones available for purchase. Only issue, they were 16GB. I think it was the rose gold and silver options that were available. This was around 3:30 in the afternoon.

I think the chances of getting a 6S PLUS with 64 GB is next to NIL if you didn't pre-order.

It's actually wasting time and energy if you don't preorder.

But I value my time more than my toys, so I think I pre-order and get the goods when it comes.
