Everybody's down. Looks like AppleInsider was right last night when they proclaimed that a Leopard announcement was imminent, as early as today.

AppleInsider just published a new report a few minutes ago that says the store is down for the Leopard-related update.

That must be a major update of the database to take that long. I can't see anything that they can't do partially behind and then make the switch in a few minutes.

I hope it's leopard :)

I wonder if they are going to have all Macs shipping with Leopard from now on..?

I doubt that Leopard will be the only thing added this morning. I smell some hardware updates, possibly SR MacBooks. They're due.

US Store back up, though it looks like its still partially under construction...

but Leopard preo-orders are available!!! 10/26!!! WooHooo!

EDIT: Edu Discount is now only $116??? WTF.

They've even backdated the date they're allowing free upgrades from...

"Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard and its 300-plus new features and innovations are coming Oct. 26, 2007.

If you buy a qualifying Mac between October 1, 2007 and December 29, 2007, and it does not include Mac OS X Leopard, you’re eligible to get Leopard after it’s released for just $9.95 plus tax.

No student discount?

It's showing for $115 when I'm logged in as an education individual...

Edit: Woops. My bad. $10 off. Ordering now.

Ordered! Giddy up.

Does a gift message make it ship more slowly? Add extra processing time?

I wonder if they'll actually be able to have it in my hands the day of the 26th...

I now need to select a backup drive to make use of time machine.

I've got 660GB of external storage.

I think I will use my 160GB drive that I currently use for drive mirroring for my PowerBook as my Time Machine drive. Ohhhhhh boy.

I'm looking to get a network storage drive as well. Daily backups over my network = permawood.
