Both locations have been closed for several months while undergoing renovations, as part of Apple's efforts to modernize its retail stores around the world. Have been waiting patiently for the Burlingame store to reopen. Maybe they’ll have an abundant supply of iPhone Xs.

I cannot understand how it can take 8-10 months to renovate a mall store(?!). I believe the Burlington Mall store closed at the end of April. When I went to another Boston area Apple Store (Quincy), they said theirs had been closed for about 10 months. To be honest, my first reaction was, "What changed?".

Closing the burlington Store drove people to Peabody. Now everyone was going to Peabody. Introduce Market place in Lynnfield. Drive up traffic of a large new store and establish the customer base.

Open the Burlington store just before Christmas. Apple has established 2 customer bases for a relatively new store and re-established the customer base to the newly designed store.
