so on this link, you can find out probably how many iphones your Apple store has.

    http://www.apple.com/retail/iphone/

so with that, what is the magic number that will make you decide to camp out this midnight instead of going early in line only? If my Apple Store only has like 50:eek:  I will camp out! But if it's 100, then i'll be at my local Apple store at 6 a.m.:D

Nice find. Will check that link tonight. Wish their stock was updated to the website real time. Really does no good to tell you that a store has plenty of stock when its going off yesterday's info.

Awesome service, thanks! :D I think Im still going to start at my local AT&T store to see how many people are lined up about 6am. If its more than about 50, I'll head down to Apple at the mall. At least with this service, I can get an idea of whether it will be worth it to stand in line or not! YAY!

Do you really think its going to give specific numbers on the page? Im guessing its just going to give a message like low, medium, high availability based on their stock numbers internally.

Will it post the inventory or just if they are "available". Some have said it does not give an inventory number...I guess we'll see at 9pm...

It doesn't give you a number. If anyone remembers last year's iPhone availability tool or the Macbook Air availability tool, it lists the stores along with either a red or green dot. Red dot signifies out of stock, green dot signifies in stock.

It was actually not even that accurate either. I believe if the stock of iPhones went below a certain level (something like 10 or 5) the icon would go red.

    Select stores. Atleast in MA.

I remember most stores had stock available after the initial day but some didn't make it past day 2.

Only green and red, no actual numbers.

All NY state stores are green on everything so I think I'll get mine tomorrow no matter what.

Not all stores are showing up. The Tice's Corner Apple store in Woodcliff Lake, NJ doesn't show up when you select NJ...

You're right. The North Star Mall location in San Antonio doesn't show up, either. It just opened a couple of weeks ago and they might have missed getting it into their database.

You know, that might actually help if it doesn't show up in the list and lots of people don't know that it exists yet. Could it mean that they aren't getting any, though? :-

Of course they have stock... They haven't started selling them. It's kinda hard to run out before they're on sale.

Thank you so much for responding!!! I was going to go to an AT&T store, but I think it might make much more sense to go to the North Star store. I went to that store opening and it was nice that Starbucks had a kiosk set up right next to the Apple store and would deliver coffee in line! Hopefully they will do that tomorrow, too!
