Apple Stores / Non-Apple Peripherals?

Does anyone know if the retail stores carry any non-Apple peripherals? I have an apple store gift certificate, and the only thing I need at the moment is a scanner -- but don't have time to wait for delivery from the online store.

The better question is going to be whether your local store will carry any scanners at all. I would call, as the inventory at each store varies slightly between one another. I would doubt they carry anything besides printer all-in-ones.

You're right -- the lady on the phone said they only stock all-in-ones.

i would look elsewhere, high markup for peripherals at the apple store.

I might end up buying online from Apple because the prices are actually not much higher than at NewEgg, and with the free next-day shipping at the moment the total cost works out to less than what I'd spend at NewEgg or anywhere local (aka Staples or RadioShack).

Otherwise, I'd love to sell the certificate (or even exchange for an iTunes gift certificate), but don't have anyone to sell it to at the moment.
