Apple recently started offering Anker's PowerCore Fusion Power Delivery Battery and Charger, marking the first time that Apple retail stores have sold Anker products.

The new $99.95 battery and charger from Anker is available from the online Apple Store and will be in Apple retail locations at the end of the week.

The PowerCore Fusion is designed to serve as both a power adapter and a battery pack for the iPhone, iPad, and MacBooks. There's a 30W USB-C charger for charging an iPad Pro or a MacBook with a standard USB-C cable, or fast charging an iPhone with a USB-C to Lightning cable.

There's also a 12W USB-A port that can be used to charge iPhones, iPads, and other accessories with traditional USB-A cables.

A plug at the back of the PowerCore Fusion lets it plug into the wall like any traditional power adapter, but there's also an included 5,000mAh battery so it can be used to provide additional power for your iPhone when you're on the go.

According to Apple, the PowerCore Fusion's 5000mAh battery adds approximately 23 extra hours of battery life to the iPhone. When used in battery mode, the plug on the PowerCore Fusion collapses down so its similar in size to a standard USB-C power brick.

You can get the PowerCore Fusion in either black or white, and both versions have Anker's standard battery level ring on the front. If you press it, you'll see LED dots corresponding to the available charge level.

Anker sells other PowerCore Fusion devices on Amazon, but the version Apple is offering is the company's only model that has a USB-C port.

Anker's PowerCore Fusion Power Delivery Battery and Charger is available today from the Apple online store with orders set to start delivering on Friday.

Thank you for the article, MR. Just purchased the black model. Will be delivered Friday. :) A nice accessory for my new iPad mini 5.
How you like the mini 5? I just got it and thinking of exchanging for an iPad Pro but I feel like it’s overkill for my needs.

It seems pricey at first, but if you consider the fact that you are getting a 30w USB-C power brick ($50 for the Apple one) and a 5000mAH battery pack, it isn't too bad of a deal.

Seems like it'll be great for travel if you pack a laptop charger and portable battery pack, now you only need one thing.

It is my first mini and I really like it. I think it is the perfect size for portability (around the house and out and about) not to mention the screen ratio with split screen ability. It is also very fast. I had the iPad Air years ago and wish I had tried the mini back then. I am very glad I got the cellular version. Very pleased. I have a MB and the mini fits nicely between the XS Max and MB. I don't see myself going back to a full size iPad any time soon (unless there was a dirt cheap sale and I got one just to have).

It almost surely has UL certification. Anker is one of the most reputable providers of third-party power adapters and cables. I prefer them to Apple products, actually.
Look closely at their chargers on amazon, lots of reviews state either chargers break after 2 months or break the devices plugged into their chargers.
Until they put their chargers through proper safety certification, they are just another Chinese brand.

Some people here thinks Anker is just some low quality brand. Actually their product is great and their customer service is even better. Never heard a company that sells cheaper with a top notch customer service.

Anker is a pretty major brand, and Apple isn't going to have non UL certified chargers on their site. For the price, Anker stuff is generally OK. I have a battery pack, a bunch of cables, a few chargers, and even some bluetooth earbuds when I want do yard work or wood working.

I wonder when someone will combine a viable charger + USB C solid state hard drive + battery pack that maintains a cool temperature.

Do you just read about Anker products or do you use them? I've used Anker for many years -- since they were first on the scene. We probably have 10-15 (or more) products in our house between portable chargers, wireless chargers and other power products. Not only have they all worked flawlessly since we've owned them, we had one issue with a purchase on Amazon and we heard from them in less than 24 hours and they immediately shipped a replacement only to find out it was our error. Anker is a quality product and just as important, has quality service.

Agreed, this is a little surprising. Even my parents know about Anker on Amazon. The statement that MOST reviews are negative is also incorrect. Anker is one of the highest reviewed 3rd party companies on Amazon. Their customer service is amazing. Their products are also amazing. I've owned their batteries, chargers, and cables for the last 3-4 years. Definitely high end products that last a long time. All the chargers and cables at work, in my house, and in my car are Anker. Huge fan of their powerline+ cables.

The few chargers I have that are Anker are UL Certified (just checked). I haven't gone out and purchased EVERY single one... but I do own a *lot* of Anker products.

Why do companies design these wall plugs so they stick so far out of the wall? It’s annoying and ugly. Flatten them against the wall and put the usb sockets either facing up, down or even left or right please.

I have several Anker chargers and cables and have only had an issue with one charger where it stopped working after a year. Anker offers an 18 month warranty and sent me a brand new one. Their stuff has always lasted me a long time and that’s probably why they’re getting bigger to the point where Apple stores now carry their products.

Well Anker products used to be good and inexpensive. Then they made a deal with Apple…I bought the old PowerCore Fusion 5000Mah for like $20-25 and still use it.

You're definitely in the minority in this opinion. Sounds like you've never used their products. Their cables actually work, and don't fray - making them superior to Chinese or even apple cables. Their chargers ARE UL listed. I have one right by my bed and sure as day. UL logo. Right on the bottom of my PD + 5.

I like them but I have used several of their cables and they all seem to stop working after a year 1/2 for me. Its fine cause its cheaper than Apples prices but I'd rather get adapters themselves from apple even though its expensive.

Nice that’s the day I am expecting my mini 5.

I have a couple of anker’s chargers. They’ve been great so far.
Congrats on getting the new mini. I hope it is everything you want it to be, with your day to day use. I have used mine every day since I got it on 3/28 (just over 20GB of data used thus far).

I have a couple of small Anker chargers I use when running long distance. They have Dione great keeping the tunes going 12+ hours.

I don't know how often I will use this new charger but, it will be good to have on hand when needed.
